Lunar walks in Punta Giglio

At the end of August we will be able to admire the last full moon of the summer. To better observe this celestial body that has always fascinated and inspired human beings, we have planned two evenings dedicated to the Moon.

Lunar walks in Punta Giglio

The appointment is for Wednesday 30 August and Thursday 31 August. Places are limited and the activity is suitable for adults and children over 10 years old. Each of the two appointments will be combined, respectively, with an aperitif or a dinner at the Rifugio di Mare.

Lunar walk and aperitif in Punta Giglio – Wednesday 30 August

Program

6:15 pm meeting at the entrance to the Porto Conte Park.

6:30 pm departure on foot through the paths of Punta Giglio. With a route of about 3.5 km we will reach the former battery SR 413, which has been renovated and transformed into the Refuge di Mare for almost two years. Here the participants will be able to enjoy an aperitif consisting of local cold cuts and cheeses and homemade croutons, accompanied by a glass of local wine or a craft beer. A wide selection of soft drinks is available for children and teenagers.

Around 8 pm we will approach the military posts from where we will be able to follow the rising of the moon on the Alghero roadstead and admire, on the opposite side, the last glow of the sunset.

The bravest will also be able to access the bunker (former powder magazine) before retracing our steps and starting the descent through the Park to the entry point.

The end of the excursion is scheduled for 10 pm

Cost of the activity:
  • Adult fee: 30 euros
  • Fee for children and teenagers (10-18 years): 20 euros
The activity includes:

Guided tour with hiking guide; aperitif as per previous description; single ticket for the Porto Conte Park.

The activity does not include:

Electric shuttle to be agreed separately (5 € per person round trip)

What to bring:

You must wear appropriate, comfortable clothing and hiking shoes. Even in the evening, we recommend a good supply of liquids (at least 1.5 liters of water), fruit or snacks to be consumed in case of a drop in sugar. We recommend that you bring a head torch, insect repellent and a windbreaker with you.

We are here

To arrive by car, simply enter “Parcheggio di Punta Giglio” on the navigator… be aware, however, that there is very little parking, because the area previously used for parking for two years has been closed following a dispute.

Especially on weekends and in the summer months this can cause inconvenience, but there are car parks a short distance away (in Maristella and Porto Conte)
